Privacy Policy for Bluetooth Explorer

Privacy Policy for Bluetooth Explorer

About this policy

Bluetooth Explorer is provided by Aktyva konsaltynh technologies. This policy describes how the Android app accesses, uses, and stores information when you discover nearby Bluetooth devices, inspect BLE advertisements, and organize device records.

Information accessed and stored

The app processes Bluetooth information locally on your device. Depending on what nearby devices broadcast and Android makes available, this may include device names, Bluetooth addresses or other identifiers, device types, signal strength readings (RSSI), advertised service UUIDs, raw advertisement bytes, pairing status, and the time a device was last observed. Broadcast names, identifiers, and advertisement content may contain information associated with people or their devices.

The app also reads Android’s available pairing records to display paired device names and identifiers. A pairing record does not establish that a device is currently connected.

When you save a favorite, the app stores the device details together with the personal label and notes you enter. Scan history automatically stores the latest sighting of up to 250 devices, including available identifiers, names, types, signal strength, service UUIDs, advertisement bytes, and observation times. The signal monitor keeps up to 60 recent RSSI samples per discovered device in memory; the sample series is not written to persistent storage.

Search text is used locally to filter records. The app does not require an account or upload scan results, favorites, labels, notes, or history to a developer-operated server.

Permissions and scanning

On Android 12 and later, the app requests Nearby devices permissions for Bluetooth scanning and access to device information and pairing records. On older supported Android versions, Android requires Location permission and enabled Location services for Bluetooth discovery. The app checks whether Location services are enabled but does not request geographic coordinates or calculate your location. Its Bluetooth scan permission is declared as not used to derive physical location.

Scanning begins when you use a scan control, runs for up to 20 seconds, and can be stopped early. It also stops when the app leaves the foreground. You can revoke permissions in Android app settings; discovery and related device information will then be unavailable or limited.

The app does not pair with or control devices or read protected device data. RSSI indicates received signal strength and is not a distance measurement.

How information is used

Bluetooth information is used to display nearby devices, show advertisement details and pairing records, support local searches and filters, draw signal graphs, and maintain scan history. Labels and notes help you organize favorites. These records remain on your device.

Sharing, advertising, and third-party software

The inspected app does not transmit these records to the developer or third parties, sell them, or include a data-sharing or cloud synchronization feature. No advertising, analytics, or remote crash-reporting SDK was identified in the inspected source and declared dependencies. The app uses Android Bluetooth services, AndroidX, Jetpack Compose, and Kotlin libraries to provide its interface and local functionality.

The Android manifest includes Internet permission, but the inspected Android app’s active functionality does not use it to upload information or contact a remote service. Opening Bluetooth settings takes you to Android’s system settings, which operate separately from the app.

Storage and security

Favorites and history are stored in private Android SharedPreferences within the app’s local storage. Android application backup is disabled in the app’s manifest. The app relies on Android’s app storage protections; no additional app-level encryption for saved records was identified. No system can guarantee complete security.

Because the inspected functionality does not transmit stored records over the Internet, encryption in transit is not part of its record-handling process. This policy does not promise that nearby Bluetooth advertisements are encrypted.

Retention and deletion

History retains the latest sighting of up to 250 distinct device identifiers. Older entries are displaced when this limit is exceeded. There is no time-based expiration for saved history. Rotating Bluetooth addresses may create separate entries.

Favorites, labels, and notes remain until you remove the favorite or clear the app’s data. Use Clear history on the History screen or Clear scan history in Settings to delete saved history. Clearing history does not delete favorites. Use Remove favorite in a device’s details to delete its saved favorite, label, and note; this does not delete a separate history entry for that device.

Clearing app storage through Android settings or uninstalling the app removes its locally stored records. Clearing history does not erase results already displayed in the current scan session, and later scans can create new history entries.

You may contact mateuszbednarski696@gmail.com with privacy or deletion questions. The developer cannot remotely access or delete records held only on your device, so use the local controls or Android settings to remove them.

Children’s privacy

Bluetooth Explorer is a general Bluetooth utility. No specific intended age group has been established in the available app information. The app has no account registration or age collection feature and does not upload Bluetooth records to the developer. Labels and notes are stored locally as described above. A parent or guardian with privacy concerns may contact the developer.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app’s features or information handling. Review the policy accompanying the version you use for the applicable practices.
